The Story Behind Precious Seaglass Creations
Precious Seaglass Creations began with simple walks along the beach with my two children, where we discovered beautifully shaped pieces of seaglass scattered along the shoreline. Fascinated by their smooth, frosted surfaces and unique colours, we began collecting these ocean treasures and learning about their journey through the sea. What started as a family hobby soon became a passion, inspiring us to transform these naturally weathered gems into unique handmade jewellery and artwork for others to enjoy.
What is Seaglass?
Seaglass is a stunning, naturally occurring treasure created when discarded glass objects—such as bottles, jars, and other fragments—are carried into the ocean. Over time, the relentless action of the waves and the abrasive sand slowly wears down the sharp edges, smoothing and polishing the glass into small, frosted gems. This transformation can take years, even decades, as the glass is tumbled, shaped, and softened by the natural forces of the sea. The result is a collection of unique, one-of-a-kind pieces, each with its own history and character.
Where does our seaglass come from ?
Our seaglass is carefully collected by my family and me from beaches along the East Coast of the UK and the beautiful coastline of the Dominican Republic. Each piece is handpicked for its natural shape, colour, and character before being transformed into jewellery or artwork. Shaped by the sea over many years, every piece of genuine seaglass has its own unique story, ensuring that no two creations are ever exactly the same.
What we create
At Precious Seaglass Creations, we transform genuine ocean-tumbled seaglass into beautiful handmade jewellery and artwork. Our collection includes seaglass earrings, necklaces, pendants, rings, bracelets, wire-wrapped designs, and illuminated seaglass art pieces. Each creation is carefully handcrafted using naturally frosted seaglass collected from the East Coast of the UK and the Dominican Republic, ensuring every piece is completely unique. Inspired by the beauty of the ocean, our designs celebrate sustainability, craftsmanship, and the remarkable journey of each piece of seaglass from shore to treasure.
